1. High Sport
Have you seen the High Sport pants?
In 2014, we thought Kamm pants were (and still are) a splurge at $395. Now, at more than double that price, High Sport pants are an aspirational purchase at an absurd price point, but they got us thinking. How much are we willing to spend on pants? And, can other less expense brands be a suitable replacement? Is $860 the new $395? Charging almost a grand for a pair of stretch pants is a wild move.
We could go on about the price of these pants, but the truth is, they’re looking great on everyone (but please keep in mind WHO we’re seeing them on: privileged, thin, very thin, coastal fashion insiders). The material, a cotton lycra blend, is marketed as not just any cotton/lycra blend but as Italian and French cotton and lycra.
From the moment we saw these, we couldn’t help but notice the familiar style. With their pull on, high waist, front seams and a kick flare, they are almost exact replicas of one of our favorite vintage finds, the Alex Coleman 70s pull-on-pant. You can easily find the vintage style with a quick eBay search. The Coleman’s are flattering and easy to wear, yet the colors look a bit retro, and you won’t find anything but polyester in these.

Other brands are jumping into the ring with their own version, usually at a much lower price point. Everlane has a flattering take, not quite as high waisted and with a side zip.
The front pleat/crease is everywhere in pants lately so dupes abound! If you’re set on the High Sports, here’s a medium size pair on poshmark for $500, and an xs purple for $450.
2. Nike Pants
Big shout out to the Nike Jordan pants my daughter picked out. These Nike Jordan Wide Leg pants are off the charts versatile and flattering.
I, Kara, immediately copied her and got my own pair. Under a dress, with a sweater or a button down, any type of t-shirt, with baggy tops, crop tops, fitted tops, you name it, they look good with everything. They look great on a 17 year old and on a 49 year old. Before these, I had a permeant tab open with the Tibi pull on nylon skirt; these Nike pants function similarly and for a fraction of the price. Plus, the embroidered “MJ” cracks me up: Nike does Bode.
